Congratulations to one of our favorite local artists, Todd V & friends for winning the Akron Film Festival’s “The NEW History of Akron”. Todd V and Christopher “Blue” Green made a great “mockumentary” titled “BLIMP…Our Blemished Past”. The film stars WE Gallery’s Erin Ludlam and others telling a different version of the blimp’s history in Akron. Check out the mockumentary:
Today is the first day of September in the Rubber City (our calendar is actually slightly ahead of other cities). While it is still technically summer, fall is definitely in the air. You can feel the chill coming on, yet the sun is still shining. Soon the leaves will turn and the weather will be just right for enjoying all that is fall. This is definitely my favorite season. I love the red, pink, orange, and gold of the leaves, the brisk feeling in the air. You get to layer up with sweaters and jackets. The holidays will soon be approaching. I love fall!

This past Saturday was Meet the Artists day at Made in Akron in Highland Square. It was a really amazing day of really talented artists, devoted Akronites, and a lot of local pride. Over twenty artists set up booths to showcase their unique pieces and meet their fans & people interested in what they’re doing. There was a really great turn out, a few hundred people passed through the doors of the little shop on South Highland Ave. Here are some pics from the day:

Even if you can’t pronounce it, you need to get up to Playhouse Square sometime to see our good friend Todd V’s new visual art spectacular. A wonderful combination of art, dance, and theater, XainGo will performing all over the the area this summer. You should definitely check it out. No Akron dates right now, but we will keep you posted!
